How to use VividLex — dictionary, thesaurus & more
VividLex is a free online English dictionary with thesaurus-style internal links, learning tools, word coining, and optional AI Imagine visuals.
1. Look up any word
Open the dictionary and search by headword or definition.
Every result has a stable URL like /word/light that search engines can index.
Examples: light · archosaurian · serendipity · eloquent · resilience
2. Follow thesaurus links
On each definition page you’ll find related headwords drawn from definition vocabulary, word families, similar senses, and alphabetical neighbors. Start at the thesaurus hub or open thesaurus: light.
For visual association maps, try Language as a Lens β — a dictionary ↔ thesaurus bridge with strength-weighted nodes.
3. Word of the day
Build a habit with the word of the day archive. Each day links into a full definition and related-word graph.
4. Learn grammar edges
Learn covers parts of speech, multi-role words, and liminal zones — useful when a word refuses a single tidy label.
5. Create & contest
Coin neologisms in Create, browse the liminal dictionary, and enter the weekly contest. Teachers can run classrooms under Class.
6. Imagine (optional packs)
Paid Imagine packs unlock AI images and short video for words. The dictionary itself stays free.
